Amazon Surface Pro 4 – The previous revelation that Microsoft could announce its Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book with better internal staff was made thanks to Amazon. Once again, the online retailer speculated that the software giant will present an updated 2-in-1 laptop with more powerful processors than the models announced in 2015.

Microsoft’s October 26 event is a day away, and it’s more than likely that the company will announce Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book models with updated processors from Intel’s Kaby Lake family. With the transition from USB Type-C to the popular interface, it would be nice to see new models that include Type-C USB + Thunderbolt 3 ports, as this would allow users to benefit from the new interface.

If true, it could also mean that Microsoft will drop the prices of the Skylake-powered Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, making it a more affordable option compared to the Kaby Lake family. Unfortunately, here is the problem that is plaguing my brain right now; the current generation Surface Book came with a GTX 940MX, so which GPU is in the updated Surface Book, assuming the rumors are true?
If you look at NVIDIA’s latest versions of Pascal GPUs, they’re capable of putting chips in laptops that offer the same performance you see in desktop gaming PCs, so it’s interesting to see a Surface Book with a Pascal GPU from NVIDIA. GTX 1060 suddenly? To be fair, the GTX 940MX was a fairly low-powered GPU, and it would have been nice to see something more powerful packed into the Surface Book.
Due to the limited size of the Surface Pro 4, we do not see a dedicated GPU, but if it is equipped with a Type-C USB + Thunderbolt 3 display, this disadvantage can be turned into a blessing.
