Ho Chi Minh City airport is well served by means of transportation, making it easy to get to the city center. Choose between taxi, car rental, airport transfer, shared car or bus. The bus station is located in front of the international terminal and is operated by Ho Chi Minh Bus and takes approximately 45 minutes. Taxis are a convenient way to get around the city: the main taxi line is to your left as you exit the main gate on the first floor of the terminal building. The trip to the city center takes about 45 minutes and is a cheap way to travel. Grab and Go Viet are two ride sharing apps that make it super easy to get into the city and wait for your car in the arrivals area. Go Viet is for motorcycles only. It is possible to rent a car in Ho Chi Minh City, but it is not recommended due to traffic.
There are many convenient ways to get around Ho Chi Minh City, whether it’s by taxi, rideshare, bus, motorcycle taxi, or on foot. The best way to get around is to use Grab, the Vietnamese version of Uber. They are cheap and can be booked through the app. Grab Bike is another option if you ride on the back of a motorcycle instead of a car. Ho Chi Minh City is a large city, although many places are within walking distance. Be sure to cross the street at the crosswalk, because crossing the street can be scary because there are motorcycles on the roads. The bus is an inexpensive way to get around the city, and it’s best to use the BusMap app for routes. Motorcycle taxis are another option if you get on a motorcycle and are cheaper than a normal taxi. There are street taxis, but don’t forget to turn on the meter. You can rent a bicycle or scooter, although the traffic is very crazy, so it is not recommended.
