Although I’ve reviewed Dr Jart’s Dis-a-Pore Balm in the past – review here – a review of their regenerating BB cream has been a long time coming. Part of that is because ‘I used less face makeup when Rona first started rolling; However, I am back to wearing BB cream even under the mask as it gives me confidence.
Also, like modern BB creams, I feel like they actually do a lot more to support my skin when I’m just slathering on skincare and sunscreen – anyone else feel this way? I know I can’t be alone, as my beauty blogger girl Paris B says something similar, makeup is actually good for the skin as she says it protects against pollutants, hydrates and encourages good cleansing habits – read her full review here
I actually bought a backup copy of this BB cream today and it reminded me to review it. But let’s go at once. I promise it’s great!
It’s a BB cream, ie a base/tomato product for your face that supposedly also has skin care benefits.

You can buy this BB cream locally at Olive Young Chemist or Dr. Jart flagship store. From what I know, it’s also widely available online, like Olive Young’s online store or Dr. Jart’s official website, and probably a million other beauty and K-beauty sites.
It regularly retails for ₩29,000, which is $24.50 USD or £19. If you pick it up on sale you can get it for ₩21,700 (which I paid today), which only sets you back $18 or £14 when converted.
This BB cream contains a cool 50ml of product, which is 20ml more than a normal foundation – correct me if I’m wrong, I think base products usually contain 30ml.
Both cosDNA and Inci Decoder raise a bunch of red flags. We’ll get into that in a minute, but let it be known that I have dry, hypersensitive, acne-prone skin, and this BB cream has always worked to soothe and hydrate irritated skin.

The packaging is so cute, sleek and sexy. I mean what are you seeing?? Great! That being said, I have a sneaking suspicion that they were really famous at a cafe in Seoul a few years ago. But of course I have no proof. This is pure speculation on my part, so take what I mean with a grain of salt.
I checked Dr. Jart and it doesn’t look like the Regenerating BB Cream is currently available in the West, so no English ad copy. They have it on the English website, but it doesn’t really tell you about it. If you understand Korean, you can visit the Korean website here. Basically, it says that it provides coverage, is suitable for acne-prone skin, adheres well to the skin, doesn’t settle lines and is good for sensitive skin.
Somehow the above pictures look a bit silly to me. They won’t do justice, I promise you. This BB cream is a little rich and goes on very easily. Very oily skin types may find it a bit heavy at first, but personally I find the texture very nourishing, comfortable and hydrating.
The cream has a faint chemical/herbal smell but is free of artificial fragrance. Three cheers!
Dr.jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer Review — Valerie Tang
The cream, as already mentioned, goes on creamy, polishes and applies easily and comfortably. Pores and wrinkles are reduced without a mask-like appearance. Skin looks lit from within and glows in a super-healthy way, even in low light. If you want a more matte finish, I think you might want to use a silicone primer and bob your uncle beforehand.
I don’t have a single wrinkle, and the fine lines I see in the mirror are probably all in my head, but now that I’m in my thirties, I appreciate a base product that evens out imperfections – and this is it. by doing
It used to come in just one shade, but I’m very happy to report that, especially since so many companies are moving forward to include shades, it’s now available in both light and medium shades. I actually have a lot of thoughts on the variety of Korean beauty products – read here for a more detailed post.
Take it a little further. I usually squeeze two or three thin lines along the index, middle and ring fingers of my left hand (a thin line on the finger), rub my fingers together to warm the product, then massage into the skin and move the rest over my neck. . On my fingers I then blend the BB cream to perfection with a damp sponge and I’m left with airbrushed, youthful, radiant skin.
Review: Marcelle Bb Cream
Here are some snapshots of how the BB cream looks in low light, room light, and natural light, as well as in various spot makeup situations.
Whenever I have a breakout, I literally find it convenient to throw it on to put my best face forward. I’ve also found that this BB cream heals and calms active acne throughout the day, even with the “Rona Face Mask”. Speaking of which, if you’re worried about this mask transferring and rubbing off – yes, it does transfer a bit, but it rubs off nicely. Blemished skin won’t be scarred, the mask almost feels smooth on its own when rubbed on.
Also, this is one of the few foundations that looks better as the day goes on.
Price puts it firmly in the drugstore category. Personally, I’d say with a generous amount – see below – it’s a steal for the quality, and I think I’m quite happy to give it a reasonable and affordable price.
St Impressions] Dr. Jart Bb Creams
Especially in this day and age when everyone probably thinks twice before spending, this is a great value for money option.
This BB cream looks great, goes on like a dream, looks better with time and feels really good on the skin. What not to love?
