I don’t know if this should fit here or in the restaurants lineup (probably fits both), but there is a new DA (A005679754) above the long empty corner area of Adelaide & Edward Street up in Queens Plaza. Initially, Sono considered entering the field after leaving Tattersalls, but ultimately decided against it. Now we have a Yum Cha restaurant called Longtime (not related to the late, popular Thai restaurant in the Valley as far as I know). Whatever goes in, it will be good to fill this open hole.

There have been a few changes in Tattersalls. The first is that this very important Tattersalls Arcade tenant, previously used by Vodafone, is now vacant and let. With Furla being the opposite, perhaps this will attract another top tenant.
Meanwhile, this long-vacant rental, tucked away between the bank branch and the stairs to the sushi restaurant, has finally been leased, although it’s still unclear who exactly will see it.

Until we fix the visibility there, I doubt any more large tenants will move into that location…
An iconic French fashion retailer will open its first Brisbane store in the CBD in another sign that luxury brands are outperforming their more budget-focused rivals. Glen Norris March 31, 2021 – 4:24 PM Australia Business Networking Cookies No | French fashion house Christian Louboutin, famous for its red-soled shoes, will open in the struggling Brisbane CBD, in a sign that luxury brands are doing better than retailers that have closed their doors during the pandemic. Christian Louboutin, whose shoes sell for up to $7,000, will open a flagship store at Queen St Mall at the so-called luxury end of the shopping strip, joining Gucci, Balenciaga and Furla. But while shops selling imported bags and shoes in the city have opened to cash-out tourists and the wealthy, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the closure of several restaurants, juice bars and restaurants catering to more budget conscious locals and commuters. Replacing a former Bankwest branch, the 150 sq ft store will be located in Tattersall’s Arcade building, which is owned by the city’s most exclusive club and frequented by some of the most prominent businessmen of’ the city

Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele is known for bringing the luxury Italian brand to millennials without alienating traditional Gucci audiences. Its influence is evident in the redesigned Gucci flagship store in Westfield Sydney.
Gucci Resort 2018 Fashion Show
This store has expanded to more than 1000 square meters over two floors. The redesign is in line with the brand’s global store aesthetic, and Gucci exercised tight control over the project.
Working directly with Gucci headquarters, Di Emme Creative Solutions was responsible for the hand-painted hardwood floors in the main entrance, VIP and women’s areas.
Gucci provided three designs for the painted floor. Di Emme completed the layout drawings by confirming the pattern repeating sizing and orientation. These drawings are now included in the shop’s architectural drawing package. The patterns had predetermined dimensions and had to fit exactly in the floor areas with a tolerance of 3mm.
Di Emme coordinated the artwork around other restoration work. The process included laying the molding, painting by hand, lightly sanding the surface to create a patina, removing the molding, topcoating and maintaining the floor until the remodeling of the store was complete.

To maintain global brand unity, the paint came in the specified color and type from Gucci’s Japanese supplier.
The COVID pandemic, a port strike and a hurricane in China added to this challenge. The project environment changed almost daily, and Di Emme had to constantly review his schedules, sometimes work at night, and then secure the ground so that the day crew could continue their work.
Di Emme continued his hand-painted flooring business in the refurbished Gucci store in Brisbane. The shop has one large patterned floor. Di Emme again provided Gucci with drawings showing the full scale and direction for approval.
With the project completed by Christmas and the opening and closing of state borders, Di Emme’s management was busy coordinating the company’s dedicated craftsmen.
