Finally, if you live near a Gucci store or a retailer that carries Gucci Princetown Mules, I would highly recommend trying them on in person. I recommend trying on investment shoes before buying whenever possible. However, if you’re confident in your designer shoe size, shopping online shouldn’t be a problem. Gucci suggests going up 1/2 size, which is exactly what I need. I got a size 8.5, 39. This is true for my other designer shoes, a few with other designs. If you can’t try it on in person, Nordstrom is great about returns, you can buy 2 sizes from them and return a pair that doesn’t fit.

I don’t think I need to go into too much detail here. Like I said, this shoe is one of my top 3 favorites. I wear them almost every day. They are easy to get out the door and carry any outfit. I mostly wear them with cropped jeans and a casual sweater/top. But they also look very dressed up. Just as expensive as any other designer shoe. Also, I’ve noticed from friends that their light colored mules are very fast on top of their shoes (walking). I didn’t notice any signs of rust on the black pair, so I don’t know if it’s the color or not, so they don’t crack. The toes are starting to show signs of cracking with normal wear and tear, but I have a closet that can handle the problem, no problem.

Would I buy the shoes again? Yes. I’ve been thinking about buying a white pair since last summer, and since I’m thinking about them a year later, I’m wondering if I’ll invest in a different color. Although the sheer color can show off the cream marks, I really like them!

When I first shared Gucci belt sizes, I was going to check out their popular loafers and mules as well. I took some of the comparison pictures 2 years ago and I still find these styles to be versatile and classic today. If you’re debating on a pair, here are the different options and my thoughts!

If you prefer the mule look, I’d go with Princetown. Although the Brixton moccasin is considered a convertible (which sounds ideal in theory!), when the back of the sole is bent, it doesn’t look like it’s been polished, as if it’s been unintentionally smoothed over.

If you prefer closed back buns, I’d go with the Brixton. The leather on the Brixton is said to be a little softer and lighter than the Jordan, so it’s a little more comfortable.

Mules can’t be worn in Boston winters, but I don’t usually wear moccasins in the summer.

Some business dress codes generally require closed toe shoes (no mules). If you walk a lot, I find that moccasins make it easier to walk for long periods of time without potentially slipping or tripping.

Best Gucci Loafer Mule Dupes: Chic Alternatives Under $150

Black and brown (sometimes called “light brown”) were my top picks, and over the years I’ve graduated to both! Their other main color is white which is nice and new, but I had the Sam Edelman mules.

Black is low maintenance, as finger creases are less visible on black, and it’s easy to find the right color to correct road lines.

Mud – I personally love cool-toned dark brown because it elongates the legs and looks best with skirts and dresses with bare legs (especially if you’re slim). I also wear a lot of white and bright colors. But keep in mind that the laces on the top of the shoe will be more visible in taupe than black.

Princetown Mules are a bit short and narrow. I’m usually a size 5-5.5 and a 35.5 fits me best.

This shoe has gone through several rounds of price hikes over the past few years and although current prices are great for mules and loafers. Personally, if I spend money on shoes these days, I’d rather spend it on practical flats than high heels like I used to!
