Halal Meat Gold Coast – When traveling with parents and kids, you should always be prepared for a variety of dishes to suit each other’s taste buds. Our parents strictly require us to eat halal, and we can get bored eating the same thing every day. Well I hope this blog can help with some helpful tips and recommendations.
From Singapore we drove to Brisbane International Airport where we rented a car. And I recommend you to go to Gold Coast where public transport was very rare and the traffic was really smooth. You need to be equipped with mobile data as well (we took 3G) so that we can have our Google Maps while driving.
Halal Meat Gold Coast
The drive from Brisbane to the Gold Coast took about an hour and we arrived at the Gold Coast at around 10pm (Australian time). Then our dad got hungry…don’t worry though…we crossed the Harbortown area and another halal restaurant was open just down the road from Harbortown. Fleming Charcoal House is open weekdays from 9:30 am to 10 pm and weekends from 10 am to 10 pm. Here are some pictures and the menu. Their charcoal grilled chicken wasn’t too bad, but they were already out of dessert because they were about to close.
Meat Express, Crossing Republik
In the same area was “Curry Express” and they served breakfast buffet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (8pm to 12pm) for only $9.90. Well, I guess if you like curry then you have this option…
We stayed in an apartment in Biggera Waters so we could cook something, especially if you are with parents and children who can be quite picky about food. Maggi (cup), selection of ready-to-cook sauces/spices, packets of chili sauce, oh and don’t forget your ABC Homestyle Sambal Terasi (delicious). And yes, you can bring them into Australia as long as you declare them to customs. Please hide anything from customs for safe entry into Australia.
We went to “paradise land” where lunch starts at 12 noon only if you can buy it with a ticket. We emailed them to ask for halal meat when we arrived but you no longer have to as their meat was all halal. Choice of meat: fish, chicken or beef. Beef was in one line, fish and chicken in another. The side dishes were buffet style and you could choose from salad, spaghetti, potatoes… oh their mashed potatoes were delicious. The pink lemonade was expensive ($7.90 I think) but you could bring home a container which was nice. So if you plan your morning in paradise land, you can complete half a day. Stockhorse Show (10:30am), German Shepherd Show (11:00am), Sheep Shearing (11:30am) and you can still be in time for lunch. After lunch you can enjoy the rest of the hike. If you have children who would like to pet the guinea pigs please come at 10am.
Later we set course for Asim’s Halal Meats at 37 Bell Street. You can find really affordable chicken wings, sausage, beef, etc.
Gold Coast Restaurants And Cafes Serving Gluten Free Options
If you want to buy seafood, there is the Harbor Seafood Market, which sells only seafood. But it costs more than Singapore. Prawns at around $20++/kg. They also sell good fish and chips there. The kids enjoyed it.
We also stopped at Harbortown. We went to Harbortown Discount Fruit Barn and seriously, the variety of fruits there at wholesale prices can drive you crazy. Imagine a strawberry punnet for 99 cents when in Singapore you would be charged about $5. A tray of peaches for $5……more of a bargain, especially at the end of the day……my parents thought this was fruit heaven. They also sell food like Indian spices, yogurt, fresh vegetables etc. there. But be careful and read the labels of the spices there because if it is not pure cumin, curry etc, the mixed ones may not be halal.
Next to the Fruit Barn was Asia Grocers and you can find many halal labeled spice mixes here if you didn’t bring any. Mixtures like chicken rendang, curry paste, seafood paste, tom yum, etc. They are usually $5 a bottle. You can also find Kicap Kipas there 🙂
If you don’t care to see the halal logo on the bottled mix you buy you can go to Woolsworth which was around the corner and there are ready mixed spices (Ayam brand), marinades and ready made sauces for half the price. ($2++). But be sure to read the content.

The next day was market day. We reached Nerang Bazar early in the morning and came across the Halal food stall ‘Gozlem World’. So if you do breakfast, it’s $10 a set. There were fresh breads and cakes that were just eye-catching.
Then we went to the Carrara Markets and sampled the “Casa de Churros”. Not really on my recommended list because they used powdered sugar instead of brown sugar and were a little hard. Expensive too. If you go down the bridge to the other side of Carrara you will find a small stand for Halal “Traditional Turkish Gozleme”.
Surfers Paradise area was easy to find if you don’t mind the slightly higher hotel/apartment prices. The Halal Seafood Restaurant available in Gold Coast is “Golden Legends Malaysian Seafood Restaurant” which was expensive and only had limited hours: 12-3pm and 5-11pm which we couldn’t manage. But there are many other halal restaurants.
In that area was the “Curry Express” that my parents loved to eat at. But personally not recommended because my fish was undercooked so I sent it back. There was only one girl serving, so the service was also poor, not much variety.

Nearby was Halal Cedar House Pizza and Kebabs. Really delicious margherita pizza for kids. recommended.
We took some time to wander the beach and Surfer’s Paradise beachfront markets. Kebab shops/restaurants are not hard to find in the Surfer’s Paradise area. If you also decide to go to Ripley, there are many kebab places like Anatolia Kebabs, Theo’s Kebabs, and if you pass by Baha’s Pizza and Kebabs, be sure to buy their Pepperoni’s Pizza. Really tasty and very cheesy.
The film world at Warner Bros. has changed a lot since we last visited in 2008. They used to have an international halal buffet but now their only halal restaurant at Warner Bros. is Legends Dining Room hidden behind Rick’s Cafe which was really pathetic. They serve vegetarian and halal which offers a bit of variety for kids and adults, but food like fried curry noodles was unsatisfactory.
There is no Halal food at Seaworld. However, along with non-halal meat, vegetarian food was also served there. So please go on a full stomach or pack a lunch.
The Gold Coast’s Best Healthy Cafés For Clean Eating
We went to Target Westfield and they have Kofteburger and Wrap N Kebab. These halal establishments were not allowed to display halal signs like public food courts.
Tropical Fruit World did not have halal food, but the cafe does sell muffins, cakes and sorbets. But buying fruit at the fruit barn in Harbortown was still much cheaper than buying fruit here.
It’s all on the Gold Coast … Please check out the Brisbane blog to continue this journey. Thanks, people.

Sela is responsive, which means it adapts to any screen and gives your visitors a great browsing experience on any device. Northern New South Wales beef processor Bindari Beef will significantly expand its retail-ready beef operation after securing its own production facility at Burley Heads, not far from the Queensland NSW border.
The 9000m2 factory was previously the main operating site of the TopCut/TenderPlus group, now owned by Simplot Australia which has since relocated.
Bindaree will lease the Gold Coast facility from which it will expand its already established retail-ready beef processing operations and manufacture retail-ready products for large Australian customers such as the expanding supermarket chain Aldi, as well as overseas customers.
The Burleigh facility will produce portioned, retail-ready, value-added food products using raw materials from the Bindaree facility. The site also has extensive cold storage, blast freezing and finished goods storage capabilities.

The factory is just 11 kilometers north of Coolangatta International/Domestic Airport with easy access to the Port of Brisbane, serving export markets in both South East Asia and beyond.
To date all of the company’s retail-ready work has been carried out at its Inverell facility, but the Burleigh Heads facility will allow it to expand its operations.
The new Burleigh facility includes large dual production areas with multiple freezer and refrigeration areas, ten loading docks, staff facilities for 300 employees, parking and extensive office facilities. The site was previously Halal, USDA and AQIS accredited.
Bindri plans to invest heavily in the site to increase its operational capacity and expansion
