VCE Hindi units 1 and 2 will be available in 2020 and VCE units 3 and 4 will be available in 2021, VSL said.
“The content is designed so that students can work independently to practice reading, listening, speaking and writing,” said Sarika Gupta, VSL Hindi language coordinator.
The VCE Hindi course uses a blended learning approach with a mixture of online materials, printed notes and booklets and regular oral lessons with their teachers.
The distance learning e-learning platform will provide an easy-to-use alternative to learning Hindi, with audio recordings, interactive activities and other tools.

“If any student is unable to attend a particular class, this app is designed to help them study on their own time,” said Ms. Gupta.
Education Minister James Merlino said the new app was part of a new ‘blended learning’ pilot through the Victorian Virtual Learning Network.
“There are thousands of students learning Indian languages and we want to see that increase,” he said.
VSL offers face-to-face courses in Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil and Urdu for F-10 students.
