Kidzwish Christmas Party 2016 – Thousands of smiling children flocked to the WIN Entertainment Center on Thursday for the annual KidzWish Children’s Christmas Party.
Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, took the 4,300 Illawarra and South Coast children (who are ill, disadvantaged or disabled) on a Christmas adventure with a string of Disney characters who have also stopped by.

Then Popera Productions (run by Albion Park family, the Copelands) brought to life a segment of their upcoming Beauty and the Beast show before the biggest celebrity arrives.

ROCK STAR RECEPTION: Santa traded the cold weather of the North Pole for Wollongong to wow his fans on Thursday.
As soon as the crowd learned that Santa Claus was visiting from the North Pole, the stadium shook and was filled with the sound of excitedly screaming children, waving flashing rainbow mini lightsabers whenever they could.
Dane Aronsten, 7, high-fived the man in the big red suit when he entered the auditorium via the police escort.
It was the first time at the concert for Dane, who came with 12 other classmates from the Nazareth Catholic Elementary School Learning Center.

Sylvia Johnston-Zammit said the annual benefit party was a great opportunity for her special needs class to communicate through music, dance and each other.
More than 400 volunteers took part to make the children’s day, including Lauren Perry, 16, from Jamberoo who was dressed as a fairy.
“I love seeing all the kids’ faces and seeing them so happy,” said Miss Perry of volunteering for four consecutive years.
That number has grown to 4,300 children with a waiting list of more than 1,100, which cost $250,000 to organize the event.

KidzWish marketing manager KarounaMicheal said the Children’s Christmas Party was an event where “kids are kids” and where they are surrounded by support, love and laughter.
“[Represents] a caring side to Illawarra with an important message from KidzWish that we will never allow our children to walk alone.”

This year, more than 20,000 chicken nuggets, 3,000 fruit juices and water and 3,000 ice creams were packed for lunch.

The KidzWish Foundation also helps families in the Illawarra and the South Coast by providing support with speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, a vocational program, a music and dance program, and a sports academy program.
