Verdi’s score requires three excellent voices, and Shakespeare’s story will take you on a thrilling journey. Yonghyun Lee, a famous singer and actor, played the role of Othello, and the incomparable Cara Son played the long-awaited role of Desdemona. Marco Vrattogna is famous in the world for the cold Iago. The young directorial instincts led Andrea Battisto.
Harry Kupfer’s timeless production explores all the action on a dangerous, colossal staircase that dominates the stage. Yan Baj’s clothes are at home on the most elegant runways.

Our floor opens 90 minutes in advance for Joan Sutherland concerts and theater performances, and two hours in advance for West Foyer live shows. Upgrades are available for purchase at our cinema. Please remember to maintain physical distance when consuming beverages in our home.
All floors of the Sydney Opera House are accessible, with lifts to the main and west staircases. All floors are accessible by public elevators from the corridor near the escalator on the lower concrete floor, as well as from the West Foyer through the underground corridor (above the escalator). Parking is available outside the theater in the West Foyer to comply with COVID safety regulations.
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of people on site and we follow NSW Health advice and guidance closely. Face coverings are strongly recommended for all patrons inside theaters and theaters, including during performances. Put on the mask.

Ticket purchases and collections will stop at our office, and eTicket or postal delivery methods should be used whenever possible. However, if you are collecting your tickets from the office, we recommend that you do so at least 60 minutes before the event starts. If you have already received your ticket, the arena gate will include a 45-minute pre-show for the Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theatre, and a 30-minute pre-show for the West Foyer live show. Take your seat as soon as you arrive.
If you arrive late, we will accommodate you as soon as possible. However, in order to reduce movement at the venue as well as to reduce disruption to the performance and other patrons, voters may sit in the late seats. Note that some events have a lock-in period. In such cases, late arrivals will be accepted with a reasonable break in performance. In some cases, this may not be far or far.

According to our on-site security procedures, the opera house will scan bags under the monument before entering. Go inside the building. Bags will be X-rayed and staff will wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling your belongings, such as gloves. The costume facility offers 60-minute preshows for the Concert Hall and Joan Sutherland Theater, and 60-minute preshows for live performances in the West Foyer. However, it is highly recommended that you travel light to reduce congestion and queues. Bags larger than A4 paper must be checked into a closed room.

Children 15 years of age and older must be accompanied at all times. Children aged 0-2 may sit on an adult’s lap while playing. Children 2 years and older must purchase a standard ticket.
Only tickets purchased by authorized agencies should be considered valid. If you purchase tickets from an unlicensed agency such as Ticket Resale, Viagogo, Ticketbis, eBay, Gumtree, Tickets Australia or other unauthorized sellers, you may risk that those tickets are counterfeit, invalid or previously cancelled. I saw Othello again in Sydney and my first thought was what a great play. My second, Bell Shakespeare Company, was a tragedy.
Othello became the world’s greatest examination of the theme of jealousy: Iago was promoted, refused promotion, a “green-eyed demon” of evil deeds, and Othello, shocked by his wife’s adultery, murdered him.
