A day after Apple announced the gold color of its MacBook, Samsung has announced that its flagship phones, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, will soon be available in red.
You read that right: the color isn’t rose gold, it’s red gold, although Samsung has used a gold moniker in the past, for example, for its classic Gear S2 smartwatch. You can see what the new colors look like in the photos above and below.
Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Get Pink Treatment
Now, we would like to say that changing the red/pink/gold theme is as easy as it is today, but Samsung has a few words to explain this special color. It provides a “feeling of comfort,” according to the company’s blog post, and is designed to “soften and combine softness, radiance, and sophistication.” So now you know.
The red gold S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will be available in South Korea on April 20 and will be available in select stores “soon”.
The new addition increases the number of color options for Samsung’s flagships to five, including black onyx, gold platinum, white pearl and silver titanium.

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Kirsten and I am a new part time blogger at . My job? Write about “women” and Samsung devices from a female point of view. Unlike men, girls are more into selfie cameras than “cool content”. We also focus more on the design of the phone than on its performance in new games.
After using an iPhone for about six years, I switched to Samsung with a red-hot Galaxy S7 edge. This change is due to several reasons, but mostly because I can finally use my hot Gear S2 Classic. Of course, the big screen and the red color of the S7 edge are also nice additions. So I say goodbye to my iPhone 6 and hello to my best friend.
The biggest problem with the red-hot Galaxy S7 Edge is that it doesn’t match the color of my Gear S2. However, I like the design of the S7 edge – the edges give it a nice touch, the phone feels good in the hand and looks compact for its size. The back of the phone has a beautiful look thanks to all the glass and I can almost forgive the fact that a lot of fingerprints can be seen on the shiny glass.

I’m pretty clumsy and have dropped my phone many times. So, the first thing I did after buying the S7 was to buy a case. This is not the case for Samsung because the company has no pink data, and not even here in the Netherlands. This is not good – if the third meeting works well, then it does not fit well with the design of the phone. It would be great to have a case in the same color.
Now, as far as the camera is concerned, I have to say that the quality of the Galaxy S7 Edge’s camera surprised me. I’m more used to the iPhone’s camera, and it’s almost embarrassing to me how much better the S7 edge’s camera is. Of course, I take into account the fact that the iPhone 6 is almost 18 months older than my S7 edge, but I see that even the Galaxy S6 has a better camera.
The selfie camera is better as it takes photos with more light and overall I’m happy with the camera on my S7 edge. I also like the fact that I can launch the camera by double-clicking the home button. Hello dark and blurry photos, hello beautiful and bright selfies!
Another big plus compared to the iPhone is the screen quality. Reading on my iPhone’s screen when I’m walking in the sun can sometimes be very difficult, but with my S7 edge I can lie in the sun and still check my Facebook feed without having to strain to see anything on the screen. My boyfriend told me it was because of the Super AMOLED display, a device that Samsung has been using for years. I’m not usually interested in such features, but I didn’t want to mention them in this review given how useful they are.
Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Now Available In Pink Gold
I’ve been using iOS for many years, so it took me a week or two before I got used to Android. Before I switched, I thought it would be difficult to move, but now I use my S7 edge just like any other phone. I still have trouble finding things in the menu, but the search option will usually take care of that. Otherwise, I can ask my caller boyfriend. Where would we women be without our men? Or well, without our beauty?
Overall, I am very pleased with my Galaxy S7 Edge. The camera, display and design don’t make me regret leaving my iPhone. However, it would be nice if the S7 Edge was rose gold instead of red gold, something Samsung needs to look into going forward. This would make the S7 edge perfect for me.
