Natural Ground – Underground Posts (1800h for standard fence panels and 2100h for your gate lock)
You will need 4 panel brackets for each standard panel (6 for the double top rail style) and these are available in packs of 4 from your local Bunnings. For pool gates you will need one G8Safe TriLatch and one pack of G8Safe Pool Hinges. Be sure to purchase a 1600h flanged post or 2100h ground post to mount on your trilatch.

You must have a proper pool fence. Our pool fencing has product technical statements on our website for both Australia and New Zealand so you can be sure it is manufactured to all applicable Australian and New Zealand building codes and standards. Engage the services of a pool inspector to inspect your fence. Provide your inspector with copies of our product technical statements. Form 15 is required in Qld and PS1 in NZ.
Your pool inspector will tell you why the fences failed the inspection and give you some time to correct the situation. In Australia, under the Building Act 1975, a pool owner cannot hire a second pool inspector within 3 months of the engagement of the first inspector. This policy is intended to prevent pool owners from engaging another inspector if the first inspector feels the pool fence is not in compliance. All non-compliant pool fences are issued with Form 26 and listed in the pool register and the local government can take action against pool owners who deliberately appoint a second inspector. In most cases, after the problems are solved, the inspector will re-inspect the pool and issue certificates if the problems are solved.

Pool fencing is designed and manufactured to meet and exceed current Australian standards and pool legislation. Border fencing is an inexpensive alternative to property fencing. A boundary fence does not match a pool or balustrade and is a cheaper option using lower quality aluminum with more spacing. It has a carved line/ridge running horizontally along the top and bottom rails to separate the pool rails. Boundary plates have 4-point welding. Pool and balustrade panels have 6-point welding for added strength.

No, the balustrade fencing system is not compatible with aluminum or glass pools, as different quality materials are used. Aluminum balustrade can be designed and manufactured to quality through Protector Bunnings Special Order Desk.
The balustrade is designed and manufactured for Australia to exceed mandatory Australian standards and building codes and can be used for decks, patios, porches and up to 4 meters high when required above 1 meter from the ground. Please check with your local council for any additional local requirements. A balustrade should be stronger than a border or pool fence as it is the only barrier to prevent balcony accidents.
Ulti-M8 heavy gauge aluminum pickets are used in the protector balustrade panels for an ultra-strength core. The short length provides a strong, easy-to-install balustrade solution. It is lightweight and durable and will not rust or rot. Our aluminum balustrade is designed and manufactured to exceed AS1170 and must be installed correctly to ensure adequate strength.

The PTS contains all the information your inspector or certifier needs to issue certificates of conformity for your local area. In Queensland, Form 15 can be obtained directly from our website by going to the Form 15 page. To issue all certificates of compliance, you must keep proof of your purchase, so be sure to keep a digital version of your receipts (photo or scanned copy). In some cases, the certificate or board may require technical drawings. We do not provide these to members of the public, but certifiers or the board can contact us directly and we will provide them with the necessary documents.

It depends on where you want your posts to go. If fixing to concrete / slabs you will need flanged posts – 1300mm standard for fence panels and one 1600mm gate post. If your posts are in natural ground, you will need ground posts – 1800mm for standard fence panels and one 2100mm for gate posts. Do not use post-crete or quick-set concrete because it will corrode the aluminum.
