I fell in love with the Evoque at first sight and knew I had to have one the moment I saw the door handle fitted first (typical person). I bought new at the end of 2019 and found the buying process very pleasant. Definitely the most theatrical handover process I’ve ever had! I think the D180SE is a good buy in terms of balanced performance and economy, having n several petrol variants now I’m glad I did. My only real regret is that I didn’t go for the D240SE, which comes from a long line of powerful cars that I could benefit from the extra grunt. My car has many options, the best options I have are the panoramic sunroof, black roof and Meridien sound, the other standard “must haves” in SE spec. Otherwise I have an extra outlet, a front seat adapter to connect things to the back seat, a camera in the rearview mirror, etc. Biggest disappointment with the car is the rattles… they are a lot and don’t seem to be fully resolved, dealer was great about taking it back in, still not resolved 6 months on. I love it, it’s an amazing cruiser and really easy to get around town. It’s also incredibly smooth and quiet, 4 passengers will be really comfortable for a long trip, but if you want to take someone in the back for a long trip, I’d definitely go for the sunroof if the small rear window can do it. it’s a bit claustrophobic. The Meridien’s sound is excellent and using CarPlay on the big screen is more practical. It now uses around 7L/100km in combined driving without being too careful, which I think is impressive for the size of the thing. We’ve done light off road rides and it’s very confidence inspiring, the Launch low grip really can and does make driving in sand and mud really easy. I will confidently take more than anything else in the class.
I bought this car because the commute to/from work is 100 miles round trip, so I wanted a comfortable economy ride with the visibility you only get from an SUV. I wanted something stylish and in the late 50’s I could afford something a little more special than in the past. The car I’m replacing is a turbo diesel SUV and I want to keep the torque you get from a diesel vehicle as well. I made a short list and the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, which my husband and I agreed on.
I like the style and comfort, then we considered the Discovery Sport, but the Evoque’s front seats are better and I don’t need the Discovery Sport’s off-road capabilities. Ride comfort is particularly good, the NVH level is low and together with the beautiful 9-speed gearbox it makes a great package for logging the miles in quiet comfort. The Meridian sound system is pretty good, as is the GPS and 360 degree camera system. When the car can park itself, it’s not something I use.
My car is equipped with the sunroof option and it makes a custom car even more special in my opinion, the puddle lights are a unique feature and the stock wheels are quite attractive, I don’t see the point in paying more for the optional wheels. but each for himself.

Disappointingly for a car in this price bracket and its “prestige” target audience, it doesn’t come with electric seat heaters as standard. People I think all modern cars are very complicated although it’s good to have all the fads etc do we really need people it’s just another thing to break and this modern car will hang on if our dad’s car did i think not , they are packed with computers and sensors how long will the manufacturers keep spare parts for all these electronics. Electronic components are replaced almost every 6 months. With the Evoque, when you start up in the morning and reverse out of the garage, when all the computers have booted up and the reversing camera finally comes on, you’re ready to go, confident that everything is charged. to react a little faster, but that’s not what you need, so you either have to wait or just look over your shoulder, old school.

The car is very good, it drives smooth, quiet, smooth shifting and lots of torque, the car handles very well, especially for an SUV, it can be quite sporty when enthusiastic on the winding road. There is one thing I’m very disappointed with though is the cruise control, although it works well on a flat surface or going up a mountain, it doesn’t slow down going down a hill, again for a car of a price and target audience that’s pretty poor in my book .
