The successor to the APO MACRO 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM introduced in October 2004, this new OS design offers the latest in optical technology. The fluid focus system moves the two different groups of lenses in the optical path to different positions. This system compensates for astigmatic and spherical aberration and provides extremely high optical performance from infinity to 1:1 macro.

Three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements ensure excellent correction of all types of aberrations, while Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces glare and duplicated images. This lens has excellent peripheral brightness and produces sharp, high-contrast images even at maximum apertures.
With Sigma’s proprietary Optical Stabilization (OS) feature, this lens allows shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower than would otherwise be possible. HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) provides quiet and fast autofocus as well as continuous manual focus.
