Billed as the ‘ultimate man cave’, this modern take on the classic sports bar is more than just a place to watch the game. There’s a large foosball table in NSW, basketball hoops and arcade-style air hockey, and a delectable menu with some gourmet twists.

In this immersive Petersham pub, you’ll find a large HD projector screen and great sound for sports and film screenings. With homemade wood-fired pizzas, classic and craft beers on tap, and an all-natural wine list that changes with the seasons, it’s an elegant (and delicious) place to catch the big game.

The premium clubhouse is positioned above the bistro CBD, which itself is aligned above the hotel CBD. Here your stand comes with its own separate TV screen. That’s right, sports fans, power to you. Tired of your niche interest, always banging for the NRL? Desperate to catch some of the Netball World Cup and nobody’s showing? If it’s on TV, watch it over a beer and a Philly cheesesteak.
The biggest advantage of this Enmore favorite can be summed up like this: the beer garden, which is gated from Enmore Road. But the front rooms fill up quickly on finals weekend as TVs ring in the room for everyone to watch.
They have one of the ridiculously large projector screens for the game of choice, as well as TVs dotted around the main room of this beachfront RSL. Drinks are wallet-friendly, they make a good trade-in for counter meals, and if your team blows, you can always zone out and watch the wrestlers roll on Bondi Beach.
Being at the beach is all well and good, but when the sun goes down, the surfboards, goggles and pants are put away and those sun-kissed bodies need a place to let off steam. And that place is the Coogee Bay Hotel, which has a dedicated sports bar if you’re looking for somewhere to watch the game.
The Sporting Globe
Sometimes a little push is good for business. We’re not talking about a scary facelift, a revamped bistro and some craft beer taps. He left the public bar well enough alone at the Golden Barley. Behind the beautiful old Art Deco facade, there is still dark green carpet, comfortable vinyl chairs, a keno corner and four large TVs for watching the game.
A bright front strip still shows a foot on many screens, serving Carlton’s jugs and clinging to the dark carpet that hides a myriad of sins. But the prime real estate in the Vic is behind a huge covered wooden deck, with a shade tree at one end and a fire pit for the odd lamb at the other, and a large screen on one wall.
It’s been tweaked a bit, but it’s not a serious update to use. It’s a bit nicer, much cleaner and has duck fettuccini on the menu.
This is a pub that sticks to its old-school guns. Inside, you have a durable, dark wood bar, walls adorned with sports memorabilia, TVs set on pedestals, and a stubby holder you can buy on site. Above the massive beer garden, there’s a massive domed roof that protects half of the paved courtyard from inclement weather, and if you have loyal friends of the four-legged variety, that’s okay: dogs are welcome in the outdoor section.
Former South Bristol Pub Reopens As New Sports Bar And Nightclub
This multi-screen sports bar is a Sydney institution – it proudly claims to be ‘Sydney’s home of sport’. Be prepared to cheer long and loud with other sports fans ready to raise the roof at this CBD venue. This is where it gets messy late, but that’s half the fun. You can worry about the rest at 02:00. Or never, it’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Rock up on a Saturday arvo and the front bar here is packed with locals and regulars with a shot in the bag, shouting at screens showing various sporting events and downing a lager. It’s a place to drink beer and watch sports.
