Pricing for the 2021 Toyota Prado now starts at $60,830 on-the-road for the five-seat GX (the third-row option is an additional $2,550), and the on-the-road price for the seven-seat GXL is $67,530, with costs of $77,157. on-the-road for the luxury VX model, and $87,807 on-the-road for the Kakadu flagship model. Information released today by Toyota Australia reveals that the GX and GXL variants now come with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic safety, joining technologies such as radar cruise control, steering wheel-assisted lane departure warning and speed recognition.

All Prado models are powered by the same 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel, producing a maximum of 150kW and 500Nm, which was updated at the same time as the Toyota HiLux ute last year.
The Prado comes with a 150-litre fuel capacity option (87-litre main tank and 63-litre fuel tank) in versions with a full-size spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.
The “Flat Tail” version of the Prado – with the spare tire mounted under the car – has an 87-litre fuel tank and is a no-charge option on all model grades except the GX base model.

The 2021 Toyota LandCruiser Prado has received a number of updates to the range, but has seen prices increase from $777 to $990.
Toyota has added cross-traffic monitoring and warning as standard on the LandCruiser Prado GX and GXL variants, which include radar cruise control, lane departure warning with steering assist, autonomous braking with pedestrian and (date) ) rider recognition, and speed sign recognition.
The entry-level Prado GX also gets chrome-accented brake lights and taillights, while the top-of-the-range Prado VX and flagship Kakadu models come with newly designed 19-inch wheels.
All models are powered by Toyota’s 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, rated last year at 150kW and 500Nm, sent to all four wheels via a six-speed gearbox.

The Toyota claims a fuel consumption of 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers and emits an average of 209 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Prado can tow up to 3000 kg.
In addition to the GX, buyers can opt for a free tailgate option that fits the spare tire under the car – replacing the smaller fuel tank and reducing fuel capacity from 150 liters to 87 litres.
Inside, nothing has changed, with the Prado fitted with a 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, a reversing camera and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
All ranges get automatic rain-sensing wipers, as well as keyless entry and start. There are ten exterior paint options, eight of which cost an additional $600.

Although the GX is a five-seat option, third-row seats can be optioned for an additional $2,550. For $3,470, the GXL can get the Premium Interior Package, which includes leather-accented ventilated and heated power front seats and heated second-row seats.
